How To
Step #1: Ctrl+click on the desired layers to select them.
Step #2: Click on Layer in the top menu bar.
Step #3: Click Smart Objects.
Step #4: Click Convert to Smart Objects.
Result: The separate layers have been combined to a single layer successfully.
